Come for a weekend of learning and making in the stunning setting of West Dean College. Learn how to block, wire and finish a sinamay base. To trim your hat you will make delicate organza flowers, learning the skills to dip dye petals, create a rolled edge effect and mount all together using wire techniques.
The College is set in West Dean in Sussex in the former home of Edward James, poet, artist, designer and patron of the Surrealist Movement. It offers an inspirational setting for focused study, creativity and innovation.
“Really pleased with the results from my fabulous weekend at West Dean. Loved every minute of it. Met some lovely people, had a really chilled time and thanks to Ellie I now have more new crafts to hone! Roll on next year and lets do it all again!” Fiona
“I was on your course last year and it was fantastic. I’ll be wearing one of the hats I made to my niece’s wedding this year. I bought the dress to match the hat! I thoroughly recommend the course if you need a hat or want to learn how to make flowers and embellishments.” Michelle Cooke
