This hat has a special place in my heart as it was the very first hat I made and where the adventure began! It’s fair to say that Millinery has taken me on quite a journey. I have met so many talented and interesting people and made some life long friends not to mention the opportunity to learn such a wonderful craft, memories to cherish!

This particular hat is made using vintage liberty fabric and I just love the colours! Where did your dreams begin?

I absolutely loved making this piece whilst working at John Boyd Hats in Knightsbridge. Mr B gave us such creative freedom not to mention the incredible materials we had on tap that he’d been collecting since the 1940s! I made this piece by hand sculpting vintage striped crinoline with added crin edge (for extra drama) and mounting it on a silk button base with a dramatic silk bow to finish. I think it has the wow factor with a touch of elegance.

Absolutely loved making this fabulous hat for the Channel 4 program The Year of the Rabbit. Such incredible costumes designed by Rosa Dias.
